Ancillary Justice (Imperial Radch) by Ann Leckie

I picked this book for the group because it was both a Hugo and Nebula award winner for 2013/2014. I don't think there was the controversy going on a the time about the Hugos. At the moment, it seems a group with a political agenda has been overtaking the voting process. Anyway - this is a great book. Very confusing at first and not only because the narrator is AI, but because of the way the world and the technology has been set up. From the narrator's point of view, it all makes sense. But starting out, there is a learning curve. It's not steep, but it's not flat either. But once you get the hang of it, there isn't anything else quite like it except for the sequel. The book gives new meaning to the term "split personality."
